A profile of Rev. Prof. Anthony I. Bature

Rev. Anthony I. Bature was born in Wukari – Taraba State, Nigeria. He was educated in St. Thomas Aquinas College and then at St. Augustine’s Major Seminary , both in Nigeria. He attended Fordham University, New York where he obtained a Masters in Religious Education in 2007. He then received a PhD in Educational Leadership Administration and Policy (ELAP) from Fordham University Lincoln Center, New York City in 2012. He also holds a Doctoral Degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution from Institut Superieur Bilingue Libre Du Togo in Togo, 2022. His quest for knowledge has endeared him to Education for Dialogue, Peace and Justice as a transformative paradigm for non- violence. He belongs to many national and international organizations. He is an ardent member of the Forum for Farmers-Herders Relations in Nigeria (FFARN). Rev. Prof. Bature has authored the following books Promoting Peace Education in Nigeria: A case study on Building a Paradigm for Peace and Peace Education and Development in Wukari, Taraba State, TETFUND and the funding of faith based Institutions: A veritable contribution to nation building as well as Power Politics, Religion and Integration in Nigeria. Rev. Prof. Bature has also contributed several articles in national and international journals. He is currently the Chaplain at St. Francis of Assisi Chaplaincy Federal University, Wukari and the Executive Director of the Foundation for Peace, Hope and Conflict Management (FPHCM), Nigeria
